Born in Germany in 1944, Herbert immigrated with his family to Muskegon, Michigan, in 1955. There he would build a life defined by resilience, service, and devotion to those he loved.
As a young man, Herbert proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His time in service reflected the courage, discipline, and loyalty that remained hallmarks of his character throughout life.
After returning from Vietnam, Herbert married the love of his life, Brenda. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. They were blessed with two daughters, Pamela and Jennifer - they were his pride and joy.
He was a devoted grandfather to Kayla, Autumn, Brenden, Jenna, and Olivia, and a proud great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. Family was the heart of his world, and he found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved most.
Herbert retired from a long and respected career at Holland Neway in Muskegon. Known for his strong work ethic and steady leadership, he earned the respect and friendship of those who worked alongside him.
Herbert will be remembered for his gentle strength, his kind heart, and his unwavering dedication to family and country. His legacy of love, integrity, and service will continue to live on through all who were fortunate to know him.
