Henry "Hank" William Graves, age 75, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. He was born in Muskegon, MI on November 18, 1947, to Marshall & Veronica (Carskadon) Graves and graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1965. Hank enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1966 and served in Vietnam. He married the former Jean Robinson on October 4, 1969, and then earned business degrees from Muskegon Business College and Aquinas College. Hank had a long career in purchasing and procurement for several companies including Sealed Power, Hylift, Neway, Shape and Kaydon until retiring. He was a long-time coach and board member of Muskegon West Little League and also a member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post #28 in Grand Haven. Hank was an avid reader, liked playing cards, enjoyed golfing, and was a diehard Detroit Lions and Tigers, and Michigan State University fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and was always up for an adventure. Hank was both fun and funny and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.


Hank is survived by his children, Veronica (Jonathon) Blatt of Kentwood, Brian (Molly) Graves of Phoenix, AZ, Bruce (AErin) Graves of Kingsley, MI; grandchildren Jack Scrimshaw, Ella Graves, Samantha Graves, Owen Graves, Eli Graves, Lucy Graves; stepmother Annella Graves; brother Roger (Gayle) Graves; sister Marsha (John Shepherd) Van Lente; sister-in-law, Karma Graves; and many nieces and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years, Jean, brothers Roy Graves & Marshall "Hoss" Graves.
