Henrietta Jong) Garbrecht

Mrs. Henrietta (De Jong) Garbrecht passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at an area care facililty. She was born March 8, 1916, in Zeeland, MI, to Joe and Minnie (De Feyter) Nagelkirk. Henrietta and Henry De Jong were married for 56 years, raising their family in Muskegon. Henry preceded her in death on February 21, 1995. On February 20 1998 she married Ernest Garbrecht in Grand Haven, and he survives her. Henrietta was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church of Grand Haven. Henrietta is SURVIVED by her husband Ernest; 2 sons, Mark (Faye) De Jong of Ann Arbor, and Jon (Susan) De Jong of Holton; 2 daughters, Marcia (Jack) Brace of Grand Haven, and Joyce (Dale) Rhodea of Whitehall; 2 step daughters, Yvonne (Glen) Sparling of Grand Haven and Carol (Ron) VanHeukelom of Plattsmouth, NE; 1 step son, Allen (Bonnie) Garbrecht of Battle Creek; many grandchildren and step grandchildren; many great and step great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Sena Nagelkirk of Zeeland and Gertrude Nagelkirk of Holland; and several nieces and nephews. Henrietta was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Ann; her son, Leroy; 2 brothers, Harold and Nelson; and 1 sister, Joyce Schreur. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Second Reformed Church of Grand Haven (1000 Waverly Ave) with Rev. Mark Nieuwsma officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour (10-11AM) prior to the service. Interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
