Hemphill, Marion Ruth

Mrs. Marion Ruth Hemphill, age 85, passed away at a local hospital January 11, 2007, following a long illness. She was born July 1, 1921 in Grand Rapids to Harley and Ruth (Terpening) Stough and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1939. She married Victor J. Hemphill in North Carolina on February 3, 1943. Mrs. Hemphill was a member of Temple United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler and bowled on several different bowling leagues for more than 40 years. SURVIVORS: her husband, Victor; 3 sons, David B. (Sandra) Hemphill of Muskegon, Steven J. (LuAnne) Hemphill of Norton Shores, and Eric J. Hemphill of Grandville; 1 brother, Richard (Melba) Stough of Jackson, MI; 1 sister, Lois Carlson of Twin Lake, MI; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Monday 11 A.M. at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson, with Rev. Rob Cook presiding. INTERMENT: Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Sunday, 4-7 P.M., at the Lee Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Temple United Methodist Church.
