Helsel, Dennis C.

Mr. Dennis C. Helsel, age 49, passed away unexpectedly at home December 4, 2006, following a short illness. He was born July 19, 1957 in Grand Rapids to Harold and Gladys (Calkins) Helsel. He was a graduate of Comstock Park High School and resided in Grand Rapids until coming to Muskegon in 1991. He married the former Joyce A. McPheron in Muskegon on February 14, 1992 and together they moved to Kansas in 1994, returning to Muskegon in April 2006. Dennis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing. He was employed at Commercial Floor Crafters in Holland. SURVIVORS: his wife, Joyce; 1 son, Michael R. Helsel at home; 1 daughter, Brenna K. Helsel of Grand Rapids; step-children, Heather (David) Parrett of Ft. Worth, TX and Stephanie DePung of Fruitport; 2 brothers, Richard P. (Pat) Helsel of Grand Rapids and Michael (Shari) Helsel of Independence, MO; and 2 sisters, Marian (Charlie Bennett) Anderson of St. Louis, MO and Diane (James) Purwin of Grand Rapids. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Friday 11 A.M. at Fruitport Congregational Church, corner of Park and Eighth in the Village of Fruitport, with Rev. Donald Wood presiding. INTERMENT: Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION: Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Lee Funeral Home. Those wishing a more lasting memorial, please consider the education fund for Michael.
