On June 5th, 2007, the beloved Helga Rudholm, age 98, was led to Heaven by the Lord at her Muskegon home in her sleep, surrounded by family. Helga was born on January 28, 1909 in Sanga, Sweden on January 29, 1909 to Erik August & Emilia Magdelena (Fredrika) Ericksson. She has been a living example of how one should conduct their life through her unfailing love, remarkable perserverance, and genuine concern for others. She had dedicated her life to her family. She had also served her community as a foster grandparent for 28 years. When Helga was 20 years old, she made the courageous journey from her homeland to Vancouver, Canada where she worked as a cook at a logging camp and a waitress at Skandia, a Swedish restaurant her aunt owned. She met her husband Sigurd Rudholm on the boat, Drottningholm, as they were both on their way back to Sweden to visit relatives. They were married June 20, 1939 in Vancouver, Canada. They moved to Muskegon, Michigan where they created their family. Her husband passed away July 2, 1954 and she continued on with the strength of her faith in God. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Vasa Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erik & Emilia Eriksson; brother, Erik Eriksson; and sister Sigrid Fredricksson. She lived a life of integrity. She will be missed greatly, but memories of her will forever remain imprinted on our hearts. She is Home now, at peace with God. Jag-Alskar-Dig. We love you. SURVIVORS Helga is survived by her three children, Leonard Rudholm (Gwen Hower), Vidar Erik Rudholm, Kathryn (Peter) Apostle; grandchildren, Emelie (Chad) Pesicka, Ashlea McPherson, Francine Humphrey, Catherine (Tim) Vanderyacht, Dimitri (Aubrey) Apostle, Sigurd (Amy) Rudholm, Rick (Wendy) Rudholm, Rod (Diane) Rudholm, Ingar Rudholm, Robert (Sheila) Lipka, and Randy (Lisa) Lipka; and 18 great-grandchildren.
