Helen E. Young

Mrs. Helen E. Young, age 81, passed away Friday afternoon, February 16, 2007, in Muskegon following a long illness. Helen was born on March 9, 1925 in New Salem, PA, the second of seven children to George and Mary (Mizerak) Check. She moved to Muskegon in 1942 and married Mr. LeRoy L. Young on October 5, 1944. Mrs. Young was a parishioner of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church and was member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Young had been employed at Medallion Instrumentation Systems in Spring Lake. SURVIVORS: husband, LeRoy of N. Muskegon; son, Lawrence J. (Theresa) Young of N. Muskegon; daughter, Susan Y. (Bruce) Sobbry of Milan, MI; 4 sisters, Margaret Burford of Beaver Falls, PA, Mary Uher of Muskegon, Ann Grega of Streesburo, OH and Francis (Leonard) Kromer of Penncraft, PA; sister-in-law, Eleanor Check of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Andrena (Andy) Willett, Nick (Brittney) Young, Megan Sobbry and Kate Sobbry; and 4 great-grandchildren. The FUNERAL MASS will be held at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM. VISITATION: This evening 6-8 P.M. at the Lee Funeral Home with a PRAYER SERVICE beginning at 7:30 P.M. INTERMENT: St. Mary's Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Harbor Hospice of Muskegon or Alzheimer's Association.
