Helen Miles

Mrs. Helen J. Miles, age 82, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was born in Muskegon, MI on September 21, 1932 to Garrett & Jeanette (Holwerda) Tjapkes and married Jack Miles Sr. on October 31, 1952. Mrs. Miles had been a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She was a long time member of Orchard View Congregational Church and former Girl Scout Leader who enjoyed Word Find puzzles, reading and arts and crafts. SURVIVORS Son, Jack (Sandy) Miles Jr. of Fremont; daughters, Debbie (Mike) Gawron of North Muskegon, Kristie Miles of Muskegon, Annette McGahan of Muskegon; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Fran (Howard) Jones of Fruitport, Carol (Jake) Swieringa of Fruitport; brother, Elmer (Esther) Tjapkes of Fruitport; sisters-in-law, Jean Lang of FL and Kate Miles of Muskegon; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sr. in 2005; daughter, Karen Miles; son, David Miles; son-in-law, George McGahan Sr.; sister, Nell (Don) Kline, brothers-in-law, Larry Lang, Russ Miles, Roger Miles and Stewart Miles; sisters-in-law, Marge Iwaniec and Sharon Dumaw. SERVICE Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. Interment at Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice.
