Mrs. Helen J. Fredrickson, age 90, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born in Claybanks, MI on September 17, 1917 to Edward and Marjorie (Kennicutt) Rogers. Mrs. Fredrickson graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in June, 1934 and then attended Muskegon Junior College. Mrs. Fredrickson was a founding member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and was a current member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a charter member of the Jean Baptiste Recollect Chapter of Questers. She loved antiques, making candles, cooking and baking bread. On August 13, 1938, she married M. Gordon Fredrickson at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1988. She is survived by her 6 children, Thomas (Marilyn) Fredrickson of Grand Rapids, Mahlon "Bud" Fredrickson II of Weidman, MI, John (Char) Fredrickson of Muskegon, James (Janice) Fredrickson of Spring Lake, Mary Beth (Thomas) Beutter of South Bend, IN, and Robert Fredrickson of Springfield, MO; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and her brother, William L. "Bill" Rogers of Muskegon. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her step-brother, Joseph Cannon. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11AM Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. VISITATION will be from 2-4PM & 6-8PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with the ROSARY prayed at 3:30PM. INTERMENT will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Fredrickson's name may be made to Our Lady of Grace Church or to Harbor Hospice.
