Helen Downs

Helen Marie Downs, age 87, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in Elkhart, Indiana. Helen was born on May 13, 1920 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Harvey and Nellie (Perkins) Hosmer. She married Chester W. Downs on January 29, 1940 in Coopersville, MI. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1991. Helen is survived by 1 son, John and Judy Downs of Ravenna; 3 daughters, Patricia MacLaren of Elkhart, Indiana, Linda Downs of Winter Park, Florida and Wilma and John Bell of Elkhart, Indiana; 1 sister, Josephine and Paul Morrison of Muskegon; 12 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Funeral services for Helen Marie Downs will be conducted on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 1:00pm at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna with Reverend Gerald Poehl officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenna Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2007 from 11:00am until time of service at the Throop Funeral Home in Ravenna. Memorials may be directed to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Northern Indiana.
