Hazel Joan Whittaker
December 30, 1932 — April 10, 2025
Hazel Joan Berkel Whittaker, was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 30, 1932, the seventh child of Herman and Teena Berkel. After a long and active life she died on April 10, 2025.
Hazel enjoyed working and volunteering, reading, playing the piano, traveling, entertaining, and, above all, raising her children.
Hazel was predeceased by her siblings Viola, Ruth, Charles, Roberta, Kenneth, and Richard; her ex-husband Stan; her sons Harry and Craig; and her special friend Bob.
She will be missed by her daughters Marjorie (Richard) Tourre, Mary (Dan) Whittaker Duncan and Lisa Whittaker; daughters-in-law Margie Whittaker and Sherry Whittaker; grand children Lisa, Wayne, Shirley, Troy, Angela, Christopher, Amy, Mark, Sarah, Jesse, Ania, Julia and Ben; many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of Hazel's life will take place during the summer.
