Mrs. Edith Pearl Haupt, age 86, died peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2006. She was born on April 21, 1920 in Shelby, MI to LeRoy and Ora (Houseman) Flood. Edith married Alfred Haupt on August 18, 1944 and he died on October 10, 1990. She had been a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She loved to paint china ware, do all types of gardening, and to sew. Her family feels Edith was "The Best Grandma in the Whole World." Survivors are two daughters, Diane Johnson of Montague, MI and Cindy (George) Wiser of Whitehall, MI; grandchildren, George Wiser, Jr., Melissa (Jay) Feltman, special grandson, Duane Johnson, Linnea (Randy) Kostrzewa, and Mitch (Shelly) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Katie Kostrzewa; sister, Mary Olson of Montague, and MI; sisters-in-law, Anne Connor of Palm Beach, FL and Martha DeCair of Lucca Valley, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and son-in-law, Gary Johnson. The Funeral Service will begin at 12noon, Monday afternoon at Shiloh Tabernacle Church with Rev. Verne Wright officiating. Burial will be made in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation at the church is one hour prior to service Monday. Memorial to the Hackley VNS Hospice.
