Mr. Robert "Bob" Thomas Harp, age 73, passed away Wednesday, December 06, 2006 at his home in Muskegon. He was born in Leelanau on January 2, 1933 to Ferdinand and Mary Ann (Brzezinski) Harp and had been a resident of the area for most of his life. Bob had been employed as a printer for Shaw Walker - Knoll Group for 43.5 years before retiring in 1995. He was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was very active with ushering, the pastoral committee, and other various activities. Bob was a volunteer for Goodfellows, enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. On July 14, 1951, he married the former Betty L. Petersen and after 54 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on May 23, 2005. He is survived by 5 sons, Dennis Harp, Mark Harp, Edward (Melissa) Harp, Robert Harp, Jr., Thomas Harp; 5 daughters, Debra (Chris) Harlan, Janet Harp, Teresa McKinley, Amy (Keith) Forward, Julie (Scott) Hanson; 14 grandchildren; 2.75 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Fabian (Marie) Harp; 2 sisters, Cecelia (Harry) Krogman, Betty Louise (Margie) Driscoll; 2 sisters-in-law, Yvonne Petersen, Sue Card and 1 brother-in-law, John (Sue) Petersen. In addition to his wife, Betty, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Mary Helen Policka and 1 brother, Bundy Harp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ernest Bernott presiding. VISITATION will be 2-4PM & 6-8PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with the Rosary prayed at 7PM. ENTOMBMENT will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mr. Harp's name may be made to the St. Mary's Building Fund or to Hackley VNS Hospice.
