Mrs. Haroldine M. Westedt, age 89, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Poppen Residence surrounded by family. She was born October 21, 1918 to Harold and Martha (Meier) Taylor in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. On February 20, 1939 she married Earl W. Westedt. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where both her and her husband's families were founding members. There she was a former member of the Building committees for both, the church and school, mission's society, altar guild, Luther League, LWML, choir, and served as a bookkeeper for the church offerings for many years. Haroldine served on the Hackley-Hume Historical Committee. She was a member of the Jean-Baptiste Chapter #265 of the Questors and enjoyed researching and traveling with them. Recently she enjoyed long rides with her husband, camping and spending time outdoors with her family, and her trips up North. She was as avid reader who had a thirst for knowledge and believed you should never stop learning. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Earl Westedt, and grandson, Keith Westedt. She is survived by her children Terry (Donna) of West Olive, Tom of Whitehall, Karen (Dr. Randolph) Stano, of Spring Lake, Pam Erickson of Mogadore, OH, Craig (Valerie) of Cookston, OK, Debbie (Les) Porter of Spring Lake, Nancy (Tim) Govan of Norton Shores, Randy (Linda) of Nunica; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Barton Taylor and her best buddy Buster. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. INTERNMENT will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS may be made to Trinity Lutheran Memorial Fund or to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
