Harold J. Wolffis

Mr. Harold J. Wolffis, age 79, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born on April 11, 1928 in Muskegon to Henry and Gertrude Wolffis, and had resided in the area his entire life. Harold had worked at Fitzpatrick Electric for 50 years prior to his retirement in 1997. He was a longtime member Unity Reformed Church, where he served as Vice-President of Consistory, elder, deacon, choir member, youth group leader, and custodian since 1993. On April 7, 1949 he married the former Joycene VandeKoppel in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 2 children, Douglas J. Wolffis of Byron Center and Renee S. (Robert) Medema of Norton Shores; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Alysia) Medema, Laura Medema, Steven Medema, and Matthew Medema; and 3 great-grand-daughters, Sydney, Claire, and Miranda. Harold was preceded in death by his son, Lee H. Wolffis in 1961; parents, Henry and Gertrude; and infant sister, Clara. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday at Unity Reformed Church with Revs. Kyle DeYoung and James Bos officiating. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
