Harold Weaver

Mr. Harold R. Weaver, age 86, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was born in Muskegon, MI on July 13, 1928 to Harry & Mary (Ebare) Weaver and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Harold married the former Marlene Phillips on June 26, 1954. Mr. Weaver had graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master's Degree and taught English at Muskegon High School for 35 years and then at Muskegon Community College for 15 years until retiring. He attended First Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Gideons. Harold enjoyed gardening, reading, was an accomplished organist and was a Detroit Tigers fan. But foremost was his family. SURVIVORS Wife of 60 years, Marlene; sons, Jeffrey (Judith O'Neill) Weaver of Ypsilanti, Scott (Bill Latimer) Weaver of TN; daughter, Rebecca Weaver of Muskegon; grandchildren, Mara, Aubrey & Dustin; great grandchild, Conner; sister, Alice Riggle of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elsie Weaver. SERVICE Saturday, August 30, 2014, 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. David Cadle officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Gideons or Alzheimer's Association.
