Harold Dale Strait

STRAIT, MR. HAROLD DALE North Muskegon Mr. Harold Dale Strait, age 87, went to be with his Lord & Savior Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Hackley Hospital with his wife Verna & family by his side. He was born in Hart, MI on July 13, 1917 to Benjamin & Jennie Vaneps Strait. Harold married Verna D. Smith on July 18, 1936. Harold & Verna were proprietors of Harolds Gulf & Harolds Northshore Mobil of North Muskegon from 1948 - 1977. After retirement, he enjoyed wintering in Zephryhills, Florida and traveling with the Airstream Trailer Club. He loved to make wind spinners, doing word search puzzels, fishing, bowling and spending time with his beloved dog Toby. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and customers from the business. He was a very caring father & grandfather. SURVIVORS Harold & Verna were blessed with 10 children, Karel Tom Dawe, Maxine Mike Gilmore, Vernita Charlie Miller, Dale Joan Strait, Linnea Strait fianc Terry Mortenson, Don Terri Strait, Becky Bob Wells & a daughter-in-law, Linda Strait; 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, friends & neighbors. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Audrey & Sharon, 1 son, Ron, a granddaughter, Lori, 1 sister, Evelyn Critchett; 1 half sister, Mary Haughey Bates & 2 half brothers, Tom & Bill Haughey, VISITATION and MEMORIAL SERVICE Saturday, April 2, 2005, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home. Memorial Service immediately following at the Clock Chapel with Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
