Harold E. Sorensen

Mr. Harold E. Sorensen, age 77, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Poppen Residence. He was born July 28, 1931 in Muskegon Heights to Soren and Hilda (Vanderkooi) Sorensen and has lived in the area all of his life. Mr. Sorensen served his country in the US Navy and retired from Challenge Machinery Corporation. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. On June 5, 1999 he married Jillena Wilson in Muskegon, and she survives him along with his 3 children, Michael (Dianna) Sorensen of Muskegon, Scott Sorensen and partner David of Grand Rapids, and Bruce (Teri) Sorensen of Salem, WI, 6 step-children, Karen (Gerry) VanOeffelen, Janice (Richard) Gilbert, Kenneth Wilson, Kevin (Terry) Wilson, Keith Wilson, Jeremy Wilson and partner Luke; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Robert and Bill, and 1 sister, Vivian. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna, on October 15, 1998 and his brother, Gordon. Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice. Interment will be in Laketon Cemetery.
