Harold Andersen

Mr. Harold H. Andersen, age 89, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 26, 1925 to Henry & Louise (Hansen) Andersen. Mr. Andersen lived in Muskegon most of his life. He loved Muskegon and the Lake Michigan dunes. He felt peace, comfort and beauty there. Harold attended Muskegon High School and was proud to be a Big Red. He furthered his studies at Muskegon Community College, Aquinas and finished at U of M with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Education. He was a Civics, History and Geography teacher. Teaching was one of his joys and he remained in touch with his students. Harold sang with the Cosmops for a few years under Mr. John Wheeler. He loved music! He was a friend of the Westshore Symphony and enjoyed taping and recording music when he could. SURVIVORS Brother, Gordon (Elaine) Andersen; sisters, Marian Taylor Rodgers, Leone (Don) Erickson; many nieces and nephews, Paul (Star) Taylor, Daniel (Paulette) Taylor, Karen (Dale) Mason, James (April) Andersen, Richard (Cassie) Andersen, Kenneth (Tammy) Andersen, Kathy (Leo) Gartland, David (Julie) Erickson, Jonathan (Melissa) Erickson. He was preceded in death by his parents. CELEBRATION OF LIFE A Celebration of Harold's life will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 4:00 PM with visitation starting at 3:00 PM at Jefferson Towers.
