Harley G. Girven

Harley G. Girven, 81 of Muskegon, died Tuesday, April 15, at his home. in Muskegon, surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1926 in Bear Lake, Michigan. His wife Florence (Jados) preceded him in death on September 23, 2003. He was a communicant of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, a life member of the VFW Post #948213 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge all of Muskegon. Survived by two daughters, Janet Pringle of Muskegon and Joan (James) Hampton of Dandridge, Tennessee, son Timothy A. Girven of Muskegon, six grandchildren, one great grandson, three sisters and one brother. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Rev. William Zwiefka celebrant. Cremation will take place after the funeral mass. Relatives and friends will pray the Rosary at 7:30 PM and the Evening Vigil Service at 8:00 PM both at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee on Thursday evening. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM to receive friends. The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements. (231) 723-3557
