Hans "Mort" Mortensen

Mr. Hans E. "Mort" Mortensen, age 91, died Sunday, September 13, 2009. He was born in Muskegon, MI on March 17, 1918 to Morten & Dagmar (Carlsen) Mortensen and served his country in the US Army. He married the former Dorthea Austin on October 17, 1947. Mr. Mortensen had been employed in the Tool Engineer at Muskegon Piston Ring for 41 years until retiring in 1982. He was a life member of the Muskegon Elks #274, past Master of Masons #140, past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star, a member of DAV #11, Vikings Linne Lodge #57, and Muskegon Piston Ring Retirees. SURVIVORS Daughter, Diedra Ann (Gene) Rewitzer of FL; special friends, Arnold & Rita VanNunen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthea in 1984. SERVICE Friday, September 18, 2009, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Lewis Glick officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 1 hour prior to the service at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: American Heart Association.
