Hanks, Dorothy L.

Mrs. Dorothy L. (Schutter) Hanks, age 88, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born March 29, 1918 in Muskegon to Dirk and Mary (Hays) Schutter and lived her entire life in the area. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. SURVIVORS include her husband, Laurence; 3 sons, David (Joan) Hanks of Ocala, FL, Laurence "Larry" Hanks of Niles, Daniel (Jan Kohler) Hanks of Adrian; 4 daughters, Mary Louise (Jim) Fields of Bowling Green, FL, Jacqueline (Robert "Butch" Myers) Hanks of Grand Junction, CO, Robin (Bill) Hendrix of Orlando, FL, Elsie Catherine "Cathy" (Bob) Trumble of Beaverton, MI; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Elsie (Harold) Gowell of Muskegon, Grace (Pat) Carson of Muskegon, June (Russell) Colburn of Bushnell, FL, Nancy Gill of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Flossie Hanks; 1 son, John D. Hanks; 1 sister, Agnes; and 4 brothers, Dick, Harold, Earl, and Leroy. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held October 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Muskegon (3040 Evanston Ave.) with Rev. Ryan Counsell officiating.
