Gwendolyn Langlois, age 95, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, in her hometown where her remarkable journey began on November 28, 1930. Born Gwendolyn Carlson to Russell and Rosamond (Campbell), she was a proud graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, where she forged lifelong friendships and shared cherished memories.

Gwendolyn's life was a testament to dedication and resilience. After high school, she embarked on a diverse and accomplished career, working at Brunswick, Noreen Pattern, Lakeshore Machinery Supply, Dresser Industries and Manpower. She rose from secretary roles to becoming a Credit Manager and Quality Control Manager, notably overseeing quality operations at an aluminum foundry. Among her unique talents was her ability to type in Russian and supporting international contracts during a pivotal time. Her work ethic and leadership left an enduring impression on colleagues and the local industry.

In 1950, Gwendolyn married Gerald Langlois, her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner until his passing in 2007. Together, they raised a large and loving family, including 6 children: Jan, Gerald, Susan, Tim, Jim and Gary. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter and the busy life of nurturing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy of love and family devotion will continue through them.

Gwendolyn was a devoted member of St. Francise De Sales Catholic Church for over fifty years, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She also treasured her fifty-year membership with the Vikings Lodge, where she found community and friendship. Beyond these, she generously shared her time and talents by volunteering for the Mona Shores Wrestling Club and at the local Muskegon Rescue Mission, crafting quilts that brought comfort to those in need.

Known for her gentle strength and practical wisdom, Gwendolyn was a woman who balanced a busy professional life with the demands of a large family and community involvement. Her love for her family, a good sense of humor, and a passion for sewing her own clothes and those of her children reflected her resourcefulness and care.

She is survived by her children, Jan (Dean) Malinowski, Gerald "Jacques" (Rita) Langlois Jr., Susan (Adrian) Schroeder, Tim (Kathleen) Langlois, Jim Langlois and Gary (Katrina) Langlois: 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sandy Langlois and Lois Lynch, and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings, Max Carlson, Colleen Johnson, Jacqueline Johnson and Jerry Carlson.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at the Vikings Lodge. Gwendolyn will rest alongside her beloved husband in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family invites those wishing to honor her memory to consider donations to Harbor Hospice or St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.

Gwendolyn's life was one of steadfast love, service and quiet leadership. She leaves behind a legacy woven into the fabric of the Muskegon community and the hearts of all who knew her. Her family extends a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Day Spring and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate support during her final year. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who loved her!
