Gregory Barnes passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 16, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1963 and was raised by his parents Robert and Maggie Green in North Muskegon, Michigan. He attended and completed his formal education in the Reeths-Puffer School District here he graduated in 1982. Soon following, Greg enlisted and served in the United States Army from January 1984 until he was honorably discharged in October 1990. He was also wed to Robin Harrington Barnes for 17 years. Greg had a personality and presence that was larger than life. You always knew where you stood with him. With a huge engaging smile, no one remain a stranger with him for long. He also fiercely loved his family and those he endeared with a sense of loyalty that was second to none. His sense of humor was contagious and he left a lasting impression on all of those around him.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory: one son Adam Robinson King; one stepson James "Champ" Ferguson; his fiancee and special love Gail Lindo (NC), his parents, Robert (Wanda) Green (MI) and Maggie Green (TX); two brothers Tony Barnes (FL) and Kenny Green (OR) ; sisters Cynthia (Robert) Green-Young (TX) and Kim Willis (TX); seven nieces Jessica Barnes (GA), Summer Barnes (GA), Shayla Green (TX), London (Andre) McAfee-Murry, (TX), Symone Willis (TX), Sydni Willis (TX), Isabella Green, (OR); five nephews; Tristan Morales (TX), Robert Warren-Green (NJ), Elijah Green (OR), Isaiah Green (TX), and David Barnes and a host of family members and friends who loved him. Special recognition and mention of some of his favorite people: aunts Leola "Irene" Green and Dollie Hippchen; uncle Bishop Kenneth Bacon; cousin Michael Bacon; and his "honorary brothers" Lionel Agnew, Laverne Agnew, Jimmie Fox, Eric Hood, and Donald Ray.
