Gore Farmer, age 76, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. He was born in Sweatman, Mississippi on February 22, 1948, to Ben & Ardella (Oliver) Farmer and married the former Velma Allen on December 10, 1993. Mr. Farmer's work history over the years included Campbell, Wyant and Cannon, and he worked as a security guard for several other local companies. He had also worked as a bus driver for Pioneer Resources and several area churches. Gore enjoyed small game hunting, especially for rabbits, and listening to music, especially the Blues. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Smith-Ryerson community building and going to the coffee shop with his buddies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Wife: Velma Allen-Farmer; Children: daughters: Sheila Farmer, Katina Bailey, Kawanna (Dion) Harris, Katrina Parham, and Alvina (Don) Ward; sons: Gerald Anderson and DeAuto Smith; grandchildren: La'Keya Williams, Kawan Hendrix, LaDedra Bailey, Kalyn Robertson, Tavier Bailey, Gwendolyn Smith, Mariah Gilbert, Princeton Ward, Gerald Anderson Jr., Gerrard Anderson, Gerrica Anderson and Gerrae Anderson; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Tavier Jr., Kylan, DeMaryia, DeMontae; brothers: Willie Fred Farmer, Charles Farmer, and David Norsworth; sister: Nancy Coopwood; special son: Frederick "Smokie" Williams and special son-in-law: Detrick "Slim" Williams; sisters-in-law: Sandra Hopkins, Otelia (Ronald) Allen; brothers-in-law: Robert Allen, Larry (Vanessa) Allen, Clarence Allen, and Vernon Keith Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Lee Joe Farmer, Eugene Farmer, Carolyn Holmes, Curtis Farmer, and George Farmer.


SERVICE

Saturday, February 15, 2025, 12:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home with Rev. Bryant L. Bacon Officiating and Rev. Larry D. Allen, Eulogist. Interment in Restlawn Cemetery.
