Mr. Gordon C. Bessinger, age 69, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on August 25, 1947 to Julius & Mary (Kule) Bessinger and served his country in Vietnam in the US Army as part of the Signal Corp. He married the former Mary Townsend on July 19, 1969. Mr. Bessinger had been employed as a toolmaker for Gardner Denver for 17 years and then Nelson Metal until it's closing. Gordon was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club, the D.A.V. and enjoyed collecting guns, riding motorcycles, hunting, photography, boating and waterskiing. He was an avid Tigers and Lions fan who loved spending time with his family. SURVIVORS Wife of 48 years, Mary; children, Scott (Allison) Bessinger, Diane (Matt) Andersen, Philip Bessinger, Adam (Kristine) Bessinger; grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Alyssa, Jacob, Aidan, Mara, Alana. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David & sister-in-law, Mina. SERVICE Sunday, 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Grand Haven with Rev. Ken Shady officiating and Military Honors. MEMORIAL: VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post #2326.
