Glenn Johnston

Mr. Glenn "Mel" Johnston, age 80, of Muskegon, passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 at Mercy General Health Partners. He was born August 13, 1926 in Muskegon Heights to the late Clarence and the late Helen (Sly) Johnston. Mel was a life long resident of the Muskegon area. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of VFW Post #8846 of North Muskegon. He was a retiree of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 100 and was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Bernie, of 39 years of marriage; sons: Larry & Ann of Norton Shores and Dan of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren: Sissy Hughes of Bastrop, TX, Susan of Norton Shores, Angie of Nagoya, Japan, Jadea Smith and Avery Smith of Norton Shores. A Memorial Service for Mel will be held Friday, May 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 2188 Remembrance Dr. with interment to follow.
