Gladys King

Mrs. Gladys E. King, age 87, passed away Friday, September 7, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born on August 11, 1920 to Harry and Clara (Thrusman) Moore in Lansing and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She was the Director of Child Haven for Muskegon County for 22 years prior to her retirement in 1982. She was also affiliated with the Altrusa Club of Muskegon. On September 4, 1937, she married Cecil M. King in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1999. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters-in-law, Shirley A. King of Fruitport, Shirley A. King and Madolyn G. King both of Muskegon; 24 grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Lucille Moore of Lansing, MI; 2 nephews, Shawn and Matthew and 1 niece, Pat. Mrs. King was also preceded in death by 3 sons, Gordon, Dennis, and Bruce; 3 grandchildren, Donna, Raymond, Daniel; great-grandchildren Brandy and Brian; 1 brother, Leslie Moore. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 VISITATION with family will be 6-8PM Tuesday evening. MEMORIALS to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
