Miss E. Marie Giroux, age 94, passed away November 15, 2006 in Fremont. She was born July 26, 1912 in Cross Village, MI to Henry and Anna (Boyd) Giroux and her family moved to Muskegon when she was young. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for more than twenty-five years. She received her Bachelors degree from Western Michigan University in 1934 and was a teacher in the Muskegon Heights grade schools for 37 years. Marie is survived by two nephews, Michael Giroux of Amelia Island, FL and J. Thomas Giroux of Fairfax, VA; and dear friends, Marguerite Allen and Mary Haug. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Giroux in 1957. The FUNERAL MASS will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 20, 2006. VISITATION: Lee Funeral Home, Sunday 2-4 P.M. where the Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 P.M. under the auspices of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Marie will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, please consider St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund.
