Gilda Thompson

Mrs. Gilda Gay Thompson, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on January 17, 1930 to Orville & Lila (Gates) Washburn and adopted by Henry & Sarah (VanDyke) Bennett. She married George Thompson on April 25, 1951 and had been employed as a Teachers Aide for Reeths Puffer Elementary for over 15 years until retiring. Gilda loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her husband. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crossword puzzles and gardening and lovingly had an open door to anybody that needed it. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Husband, George of 65 years; children, Barb Wheeler, Tim (Karen) Thompson, Sandy (Blake) Richards, David L. (Tammie) Thompson, Scott Thompson; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Morris (Bette) Thompson; many nieces, nephews & cousins; her special grandpup, Rocky, Sierra; very special friend, Ozelle & many other friends.
