Gertrude Koats

Mrs. Gertrude D. Koats, age 99, died Monday, February 16, 2009. She was born in Boyne City, MI on June 27, 1909 to Joseph & Bertha (Turner) Charon and married Frank J. Koats in June of 1929. Mrs. Koats had been employed at Gardner Denver for 24 years until retiring in 1996. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and reading but her family meant everything to her. SURVIVORS Son, Jim (Beverly) Koats of Grand Haven; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Walter Charon of Boyne City; several nieces & nephews; friends, Louise Svoboda & Ellen O'Brien. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Jack Koats; daughter, Jaquline VerBerkmoes; great granddaughter, Jennifer Koats; 6 brothers, 3 sisters & 1 half sister. SERVICE As per her wishes, no services will be held. MEMORIAL: Hospice at Heartwood Lodge.
