KNIGHT, CW04 (U.S. Army, Retired) GERALD L. North Muskegon Gerry, age 88, passed away on July 31, 2006 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born in Lansing, MI January 26, 1917. His mother was Nora E. Blanchard of Mason, MI and his father was Max M. Knight of Rexville, NY. Gerry graduated from West Lebanon High School, Indiana, and received an Associates Degree in Business Technology from St. Phillip's College, San Antonio, Texas. He entered military service in 1942 and served with honor for thirty years in the U.S. Army before retiring in 1973 from Headquarters, Fifth U.S. Army, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas as a Chief Warrant Officer and Senior Administrative Assistant to the Commanding General. His career included duty during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, and amongst his many decorations was the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star for Valor. Gerry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Marie L. Knight, and his grandson, Max L. Knight, Jr. SURVIVORS His daughter, Nora Evelyn, and her husband, Douglas O. Carson of North Muskegon, MI and his son Max Lee Knight and his wife, Janet Gray, of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Andrea, Nicole, Robert, William, Lisa, Bradley, Brian, and Sean; great grandchildren, Tony, Nicholas, Cecilia Marie and Ava Grace. SERVICE Gerry's cremated remains will be returned to San Antonio where they will be reunited with Marie's and interred with full military honors at the National Cemetery at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
