Gerald K. Fielstra

Mr. Gerald K. Fielstra, age 89, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2008, in Muskegon. Gerald was born November 17, 1918 to Cornelius and Lena (Kroes) Fielstra and had been a life resident of the area. Prior to this retirement, Gerry had been an electrician and draftsman for SPX Sealed Power and had also been Building Engineer at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. On May 14, 1942 he married the former Eileen Bunnell and she preceded him in death on December 4, 1999. SURVIVORS include his children, Carl J. (Mary) Fielstra of Mission Viejo, CA and Linda E. (Robert J.) Rose of Cape Coral, FL; 3 grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Sellars, Carl J. (Krystal) Fielstra II and Mark T. (Lauren) Fielstra; 4 great-grandchildren, Samuel Sellars, Carl J . III, Trenton and Madalyn Fielstra; 1 brother, Henry (Clara) Fielstra of Fruitport and by many nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 1 PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 231-726-5210 with Pastor Tim Beggs officiating. Burial will be in West Hesperia Cemetery. VISITATION with Gerry's family will be one-hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL GIFTS to Calvary Bible Church will be appreciated.
