Gerald Costlow

Gerald Glenn "Jerry" Costlow was born July 5, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to Billy Jack Abshire and Ina (Sherritt) Costlow. He was later adopted by William A Costlow. On Monday, January 1, 2017 Gerald departed this life after a sudden illness. Gerald grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1973. He enlisted in the US Air Force in June, 1973 and served until March 1982 and again April 1984 to June 1988. During his Air Force career he was stationed in Virginia, Great Britain, Korea and Washington, DC. He earned the rank of TSGT and received an honorable discharge and moved back to Ohio. On August 21, 1985 he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Tampa and graduated cum laude. He married Cindy L Daniel on March 11, 1991, a beautiful union that lasted 23 years until her passing on April 21, 2014. Gerald and his wife moved to Muskegon, Michigan in 1996 where he lived the remainder of his life. Gerald worked as a Video Engineer for Spectrum Communications since 2003. Gerald's passion was writing. He had many novels and short stories published and would most like to be remembered through his writing. SURVIVORS Gerald leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ina M Costlow; father, William A Costlow; step-children, Trina K White and Larry E (Sarah)Brown; sister, Cynthia D Costlow-Gary; step-grandchildren, Megan Wolverton, Wolfgang Hills, Christian West, Layne Brown and Liberty Brown; aunt, Dreama I Sherritt-Thomas; uncle, Arthur L (Bobbi) Crouse; niece, Dawn M (Scott) Snipes-Casto; and great nieces, Annalise Casto and Evangeline Casto; his biological father, Billy Jack Abshire. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Cindy L Costlow; sister, Kathern Sue Costlow; grandmother, Mary K Sherritt-Crouse; grandfather, Nathan Crouse; and uncles, Eugene Crouse, Roy Thomas Crouse and Charlie Crouse. SERVICES Per his wishes, no services will be held. Interment at Franklin Hills Memorial Garden, 5802 Elder Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110.
