George A. Vandervelde

VANDERVELDE, MR. GEORGE A. Kalkaska Mr. George A. VanderVelde, age 88, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004. He was born in Coopersville, MI on February 24, 1916 to Leonard & Georgia Granger VanderVelde & married the former Myrna Bell Rettinghouse who preceded him in death & then married Mary Elizabeth Gregson Florence & she also preceded him in death. Mr. VanderVelde had been employed by Ottawa County Road Commission until retiring. He attended United Methodist Church & was an avid gardener. SURVIVORS 1 son, Grayling A. VanderVelde of Franklin, NC; 2 daughters, Brenda Elaine Duke Bellinger of Kalkaska & Meredyth K. DeRidder of Fairbanks, AK; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 3 step-grandchildren & 4 step- great grandchildren; 1 sister, Evelyn Bursma of Cedar Springs, MI. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Myrna, 2nd wife, Mary Elizabeth & by 2 sisters, Marion & Lillian. SERVICE Monday, December 27, 2004, 1:00 PM at the Clock Chapel - Fruitport with Rev. John Morse officiating. Interment at Lakeshore Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home - Fruitport. MEMORIAL: Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana. Clock - Fruitport
