George Eli Lakatos

Lakatos, Mr George Eli Fruitport, Michigan Mr George Eli Lakatos, age 100, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. He was born in Muskegon Hts., MI on February 4, 1920 to Peter & Mary (Szekely) Lakatos and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married the former Mary Ellen Hart on January 18, 1947. Mr Lakatos had been employed at Anaconda Wire & Cable for over 30 years until retiring. George was a very active member of First Congregational Church of Fruitport , Happy Wanderer Camping for over 50 years & former member of Hungarian Hall. He enjoyed Orchard View Seniors, polka dancing, fishing, gardening and cooking. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Diane (Don) Anderson of Coopersville & Marlene (Ron) Becklin of Holton; 7 grandchildren, Kelly, Amy, Tricia, Ryan, Adam, Sarah 6 great grandchildren, Madison, Andrew, Skyler, Owen, Wesley & Walker; sisters, Theresa (Joe) Kuzniar, Rosie Hartman & Margaret Jawor; brothers, Joe Lakatos, Alex (Delphine) Lakatos & Denny Lakatos; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Mary Ellen in 2004, son, Michael in 2008, sisters, Mary, Veronica brothers, Pete & Jim. SERVICE Due to Covid-19, private family services will be held.
