Mr. George S. Danigelis, age 90, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on April 17, 1926 to Samuel & Anastasia Danigelis. He served his country during WWII as a Merchant Marine and was also a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War. He married the former Leah Ann Fox on May 31, 1959. Mr. Danigelis had been the co-owner of Community Food & Beverage Market for over 50 years. George was a member of Annunication Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA, VFW Don Rea Post #8846 and Michigan Duck Hunters Association where he was Treasurer. He was a past charter member of Spoonville Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending his time hunting & fishing. He was active with the Sportsmen for Youth. George went on many hunting trips including 2 African Safari's, many Canadian hunts and trips to Argentina and Mexico, as well as, numerous hunts throughout the United States, and spent 30 plus years fishing the Two Hearted River. SURVIVORS Son, Jim (Laura) Danigelis of Grand Haven; daughters, Ann Marie Price of Rockford, Stephanie Geoghan of North Muskegon; grandchildren, Donny, Leah & Sam Price, Andrew, & Tyler Geoghan, Sophie & Chloe Danigelis; sister, Christine Encelewski of Muskegon; brother, Alex (Thelma) Danigelis of Alto; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah in 2005 and sister, Aphrodite Drelles. SERVICE Monday, October 3, 2016, 11:00 am at Annunication Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. James Honeycutt officiating and Military Honors under the Auspices of the VFW Don Rea Post #8846. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION Sunday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Trisagion Service at 4:45 pm at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Annunication Greek Orthodox Church.
