Genevieve M. Roest

Genevieve M. Roest, 98, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, peacefully, at South Lyon Gardens, in South Lyon, MI. She was born December 29, 1909, to John and Catherine Deutschman in Ahmeek, MI (Upper Peninsula). The family moved to Pentwater, MI when she was 12 years old. Later, she moved to Muskegon, MI where she worked for the Page and Monroe families. Married to Robert Roest on May 9, 1941, who preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1993. They were members of the Dalton Baptist Church. She was known for her great cooking, helping work the farm, and for making evergreen Christmas wreaths for several local florists. She is survived by her only child George (Diane) of South Lyon, MI, and grandson Kevin (Seungji) of Rochester Hills, MI, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6, from Noon to 3:30 p.m., with service following at 3:30 p.m. at the Clock Funeral Home in Muskegon. Arrangements by Phillips Funeral Home, South Lyon.
