Geneva was serenaded by angels into the loving arms of Jesus on May 22, 2007. She was born in Muskegon on March 23, 1920 to Charles and Lillian Deater. On her 19th birthday, in 1939, she married Allison LaValley, the love of her life for 64 years. Geneva loved being a homemaker and raising her six children. In her later years she and Al loved camping and traveling to Texas, Florida and Georgia for the winter months. Together they were involved in their church and had many, many friends. Geneva will be greatly missed by her children, Chester (Stephanie) LaValley, George LaValley, Kay (Stan) Cooper, Linda Way, and Robert (Janie) LaValley; her twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and twelve great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Roger; her brother, Charles; her sisters, Helen and Alice; a granddaughter, Delshea LaValley and, a great-grandson, Brian LaValley, Jr. SERVICE: A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., May 26, 2007 at Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, 2270 S. Mill Iron Road, Muskegon. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., May 26, 2007 at Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, at the corner of Evanston and Mill Iron. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials in Geneva's name be given to VNS Hospice of Muskegon or Anchor of Hope Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, 476 W. Lakewood Road, Twin Lake, MI 49457. The family would like to especially thank the nurses and nurses aides on 400 Hall, and the staff, at McAuley Place Living Center for the loving care given to their mother while she was a resident at their facility.
