General Shedron Buford passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was born in West Point, Mississippi on March 23, 1939 to Willie and Magnolia (Owens) Buford. General was the youngest of 9 children. He moved to Muskegon, MI to live and worked for Bil Mar Turkey Processing Plant hanging turkeys until he retired in 2001. General met Katie Alers while working at Bil Mar and they were married in 1970's. He didn't have any children but he was a kind and loving father to Katie's 5 children. General loved to fish, (even went to Alaska and caught 19 salmons), he also enjoyed listening to gospel music. He loved watching old Western movies, basketball and football on TV. He loved to travel and socialize with family and friends. He lived a good life. His life changed after he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina as he met Jesus and was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and he attended church service every week. Precious memories will be shared by four step children, Willie Mae Cook, of Sumter, SC. Margaret Harris of Charlotte, NC, Rickie (Gloria) Harris of Detroit and Anita Alers (Claude) Alexander of Clayton, NC; one sister, Sally King of St. Louis, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, General was proceed in rest by his wife, Katie in 1988, a step daughter Vickie Porter, one grandson, a great grandson and a great-great granddaughter. SERVICE & VISITATION Visitation for General will be held at Clock Funeral Home on August 2, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The celebration service follows from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
