Gary "The Captain" Meinel

MEINEL, MR. GARY The Captain Meinel Grand Haven Mr. Gary ''The Captain'' Meinel, age 64, of Spring Lake, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Hackley Hospital. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on April 21, 1940 to Gerald and Rose Veltman Meinel in Grand Haven. He married the former Margaret Dancer on December 1962, she preceded him in death. Mr. Meinel had been a truck driver with Foreway Transportation for 30 years until retiring in 2003. He attended Ressurection Life Church; was a former member of Muskegon Motorcycle Club and the former Captain of the Harbor Steamer. He loved being around the water. SURVIVORS: 3 sons, Russell Meinel and Steve Pat Meinel both of Grand Haven, MI, Greg Tricia Meinel of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter, Wendy Bill Deverney of Grand Haven, MI; 8 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Bill Clarkson of Sarnia, Canada; brother, Dennis Pattie Meinel of Bonita Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews. SERVICES Thursday, August 19, 2004, 1:00 PM at Ressurection Life Church, Grand Haven. Interment at Lake Forest Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home, Grand Haven, MI.
