Gary L. Johnson JOHNSON, MR. GARY L. Montague, MI Mr. Gary Lee Johnson, age 63, died very unexpectedly Sunday, January 15,2006. He was born on June 17, 1942 in Fremont, MI, to Leon and Gertrude (Somers) Johnson. Gary married Diana K. Haupt on August 25, 1962, and was employed for 23 years by the City of Whitehall. He then co-owned/operated with his wife, Springs Sporting Goods in Muskegon for over 20 years. Presently, Gary was working part-time at his son, Mitchell's sport shop, Johnson's Great Outdoors in Montague. Gary loved to hunt and fish and was a local and international, custom fishing rod builder. Survivors include his wife, Diana; three children, his special son Duane, Linnea (Randy) Kostrzewa and Mitchell (Shelly) Johnson; two grandchildren, Joseph and Catherine Kostrzewa; two sisters, Donna (Richard) Brewer and Emmajean (Ken) DeMond; his mother-in-law, Edith Haupt; and nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am Thursday morning at the Shiloh Tabernacle Church, 460 E Tyler Rd ., with Reverend Vern Wright, officiating. Visitation hours are at the church, Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and also Thursday morning one hour prior to service.
