Garth E. Wiswell

Mr. Garth Edward Wiswell , age 83, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016. He was born in Hart, Michigan on March 22, 1933 to James & Lelia (McLouth) Wiswell and married the former Ruth Cleveland on February 3, 1951. Mr. Wiswell graduated from Wayne State University and had been employed as a Funeral Director for Clock Funeral Home for 40 years and was also the former owner of Wiswell Funeral Home in Fruitport. Garth was a member of Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ and a Life Member of the Muskegon Masonic Lodge. He was also a former member of the Fruitport Lions Club and a past president of the Muskegon Shriner's Club. SURVIVORS Wife of 65 years, Ruth; Daughters, Dr. Denise Wiswell of Mt. Pleasant, Christine Wiswell of Fruitport; Son, Scott Wiswell of Fruitport; sister Wilma Loughmiller of Shelby; sister-in-law Dorothy Wiswell; many nieces and nephews. Garth was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert. SERVICE Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 11:00 am at Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Don Wood and Rev. Kenneth Babcock officiating. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Shelby. VISITATION Tuesday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ.
