Fredrick S. Galindo, age 55, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 while surrounded by loving family and friends. Per Fred's wishes, a Celebration of Life picnic will be held between 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Saturday, September 19, at Margaret Drake Elliott Park located on Beach Street at the North end of Pere Marquette Park. If you wish to bring a dish to pass, feel free to do so. Fredrick was born to Sam Galindo, and Iris (Borgerding) Galindo in Muskegon, Michigan on September 19, 1959. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1975, served in the US Army between 1976-1979, and was employed at L-3 Communications for 17 years. Fred was known for his honesty, integrity, work ethic and strength of character which he demonstrated as a loyal friend, loving husband, father and devoted provider for his family. Those that knew him sought out his insight and wisdom, assured that his outlook would inspire positivity and personal growth. Fred enriched his life with family, friends, hard work, and hobbies such as fishkeeping, motorcycle riding, technology, snowkiting, kiteboarding, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking, dirt biking, and golfing. He was a talented builder who built his own home and excelled at learning new skills which he often applied to home remodeling and landscaping projects. His favorite place to spend time was on Lake Michigan, where he would test out his handcrafted kiteboards and go for beach walks to watch the sun set with his wife Laura. Fredrick is survived by his wife, Laura Galindo of Muskegon, MI, two sons, Mason Galindo of Austin, TX and Gordon Galindo (Stephanie Muttart) of Muskegon, MI, former wife, Elizabeth Galindo of Mansfield, OH, grandchildren, Ele Colburn, Miyah Colburn, Gianna Lewis, Lexi Colburn, Emi Colburn, father, Sam Galindo of Muskegon, MI, siblings, Gloria "Gee Gee" (Robert) Lawless, Tamra (Alec) Buckley, aunts, Lynn (Robert) Kuehneman and Charlotte Borgerding, step children, Caitlin Peters and Aubree Peters, step brothers, Donald (Natalie) Baxter, Darrin (Michella) Baxter, nieces and nephews, Sarah MacLean, Garrison MacLean and children Kendric and Aliah, Aley (Roger) Seigel and children, Scarlett and Alec, Brent Buckley, friends, Bill Church, Nels Frick, et al., his L-3 Communications UAW brothers, and his dog, KC. He is preceded in death by his mother, Iris (Borgerding) Galindo. Hey Now!
