Frederick George Timmer, 89, of Muskegon, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in the presence of family.


Fred was born May 16, 1935, the son of George and Jane Timmer. He married Marlene (Hansen) Emmons on March 26, 1983 and together they enjoyed 41 years of marriage until her death in early 2024. Fred served his country in the US ARMY in Germany and was extremely proud of his service. He was a dedicated worshiper at Forest Park Covenant Church and also loved the sermons at Central Family Worship. Fred was a former City Manager, President of several engineering firms, a Certified Planner and owned his own painting business after retiring. He loved sports and was a great basketball player having played in high school, junior college, a Division 1 College and an International team in the military. He was also a very good baseball and fast pitch player, state racquetball champion, and enjoyed golfing, tennis and many other sports. He was a loving, caring leader, and a man who will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Children; Mark (Kathy) Timmer, Gary (April) Timmer, Jeff (Catrina) Emmons; grandchildren; Kayla (Chance) Vineyard-Crouch, Lindsey (Weston) Conrado, Joshua Timmer, Brooke Timmer, Amelia Emmons, Justine Emmons; great-grandchild, Mason Conrado; brother, Jack (Julie) Timmer; sisters, Mary Chapel and Joann Koning; brothers-in-law; Marcus (Nancy) Hansen, Rocky (Peggy) Hansen


He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marlene; son David; and brothers-in-law, Jack Chapel and Dale Koning.


SERVICES


CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Monday, January 27, 2025 at Central Family Worship Center in Coopersville. Visitation at Noon, Service at 1:00 pm with live stream, Coffee and Cake fellowship following service.
