Mr. Frank Francis Shunta, age 89 passed away unexpectedly at his residence Monday, December 17, 2007. Frank was born on September 9, 1918 in Depue, Illinois to Joseph and Mary (Koklich). At 33 years of age, he married Gladys Amanda McClean of Ballyclare, Northern Ireland on June 28, 1952. Frank was an active parishioner and volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His wife Gladys preceded him in death, on January 1, 2005. SURVIVORS: daughter Colleen Shunta of Lewiston, ID, 7 sons, Dr. Mark Shunta O.D. and his wife, Renee'-Janis Shunta of Muskegon, Joseph Shunta of Houston, TX, Timothy Shunta of Denver, CO, Randall Shunta of Muskegon, MI, Kenneth Shunta of Northville, MI, Rodney Shunta and his wife Dr. Meenu Shunta of Norton Shores, MI, and Brian Shunta of Northville, MI, a brother, Joseph (Claire) of Norton Shores, MI, two sisters, Annie (George) and Della (Michael), both of Chicago, IL, and a sister in law, Stella Shunta, of Muskegon Heights, MI, 2 grandchildren, Dustin Shunta (Amanda) and Cameron Shunta, and another grandchild on the way, and 1 great grandchild, Hope Shunta. Frank was retired from Teledyne Continental Motors in Muskegon where he worked for 33 years. Frank also served his country in WWII, where he saw active duty in Manila, Philippines. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit, Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M., Father Thomas Brown, presiding. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. INTERMENT: St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions in memory of Frank Shunta to Sacred Heart Church.
