Frank Owen Schopp, Sr.

Mr. Frank Owen Schopp, Sr., age 77, passed away at the home of his daughter Verda Brandow on Thursday, January 28, 2008 following a short illness. He was born in Columbus, OH on September 25, 1930. He married the former Marian Cramblit on July 20, 1957 in Columbus and moved to Muskegon Heights in 1960. Mr. Schopp was a meat cutter by trade and retired from Smith Meat Packing in 1996. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former member of V.F.W. Post, 3195. He was also a former member of the Muskegon Hts. Eagles, Muskegon Moose and the Polish Falcons. In earlier years, Frank enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by: wife, Marian of Muskegon Heights; five children, Jenny (Marvin) Bringer of Grove City, OH, Frank (Gala) Schopp, Jr. of Dayton, OH, Verda (Dana) Brandow of Lakewood Club, MI, Joe (Frances) Schopp of Muskegon Hts. and Chester (Angie) Schopp of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother and a sister both in Ohio. A memorial service will be held at: The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 1:00 P.M., Rev. Philip Cappelleri officiating. A Veterans Service under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans will honor Franks' service to his country following the memorial service.
