Mr. Francis R. 'Frank' Santala, age 90, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was born in Washburn, WI on June 4, 1922 to Frank & Lila (Leino) Santala and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He married Viola Gross and after her passing he met and married Pat Trumble. Pat passed away as well after which he met the former Maxine Hosler on a blind date married her on August 17, 1991. Mr. Santala had worked for the State of Wisconsin as a corrections officer retiring as Captain. He was a member of VFW Post #9399 in Arizona. Frank loved to trap, hunt, fish and go dancing. His smiling face will be missed by all. SURVIVORS Daughters, Darlene (Les) Brandt, Janice (Cliff) Drzonek, Debra (Lee) Brinkmeier, all of WI, Nancy (Rob) Woodruff of Lansing, Paula Gilbert, Darlene Hosler, Karen Payne all of Muskegon; many grand and great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 wives, Viola, Pat, & Maxine; brothers, Albin & Everett. MEMORIAL SERVICE Thursday, July 5, 2012, 2:00 PM at Grace Bible Church with Rev. David Schoonbeck officiating and Military Rites under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. Interment in Wisconsin. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice.
