Francis H. "Pete" Graves

Francis H. "Pete" Graves, age 76 passed away on October 13, 2008 after a long courageous struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Freda; three children, Stephen (Evey) Graves, Sally (Charles) Travis and Kenneth (Terri) Graves; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Andrew and Carissa Graves, Serena Springstead, Joshua (Kristen) Mead, Jason Mead and Sara Mead; four great-grandchildren, Caia, Jenna, Kadence and Samantha; three sisters, Bonnie Welton, Loretta Carnahan, Lola (Cliff) Carnahan; a brother, Harold (Michelle) Graves and several nieces and nephews. Francis was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War serving aboard the USS Oriskany. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed photography and singing. Francis was an active member of Shoreline Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Ever Rest on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shoreline Church of Christ Building Fund.
