Mrs. Frances Rhudell Gundy, age 93, Went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024. She was born in Camden, TN on September 25, 1930 to Ira & Maudie (Bain) Douglas and married Ralph L. Gundy Jr. on June 6, 1959 and he preceded her in death in 2005. Rhudell was a wonderful mother and homemaker who had worked at Shaw Walker before starting a family. She was a lifelong member of Dalton Baptist Church, now called Bridge Bible Church Dalton Campus. In her younger days she liked to play tennis and go ice skating. Rhudell had worked as a School Crossing Guard and also sold Stanley Home Products and was an Avon lady. She was in multiple bowling leagues through the years and served as their secretary/treasurer. Rhudell liked playing cribbage, spending time in their backyard pool and loved taking care of her grandchildren. During her last years at the nursing home she loved crafting and playing games especially BINGO! Rhudell will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Daughters, Kimberly (Patrick) Shetterly, Theresa (Mike) Hannum; grandchildren, Andrew J. (Torie) Shetterly, Michael Jay (Caitlyn) Hannum, Amanda L. (Mike) Helsel; great-grandchildren Dennis "Andy" Helsel, Eleanor Joylynn Helsel, Theodore "Teddy" Helsel; sister Elease Johnson; sister-in-laws, marilyn Tanner, Eleva Jensen. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; grandson Derek Shetterly; brothers Willard Douglas, Herbert George (Myra) Douglas, Joseph Ruben (Ann) Douglas; brother-in-laws Robert (Wanda) Gundy, Laverne Tanner and Melvin Jensen.

Our family would like to thank the staff at SKLD Whitehall and Gentiva Hospice for the Attentive and Caring Love shown to Our Mother and Grannie.

SERVICE

Friday, May 17, 2024, 11:00 AM at Bridge Bible Church Dalton Campus with Pastor Paul Austin officiating. Interment in East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery.
